Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

At Homecare1st, we are fully committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in every part of our business and supply chains. While we are not legally required to publish a statement under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we choose to do so voluntarily because we believe in transparency, ethical practice, and the protection of human rights.

Our Business and Values

Homecare1st provides compassionate, high-quality home care services for adults across Yorkshire and Hampshire. Our ethos is rooted in dignity, equality, and respect for every individual. We operate with a clear zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery and human trafficking, and our internal policies reflect this commitment.

Our Commitment

We are dedicated to:

  • Promoting awareness of modern slavery and exploitation through staff training and open conversation.
  • Maintaining clear internal policies and procedures that empower staff to identify and report any concerns.
  • Taking appropriate steps to ensure our supply chains and third-party partners align with our ethical standards and comply with relevant legislation.

Policies in Practice

Our internal Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy and Procedure outlines our approach and responsibilities, which include:

  • Straightforward reporting pathways for suspected abuse, exploitation, or safeguarding concerns.
  • Alignment with the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) for identifying and supporting victims.
  • Regular reviews and updates of our procedures to reflect best practice and emerging risks.

Training and Awareness

All Homecare1st team members, particularly those involved in recruitment, care coordination, and supplier engagement, receive training to recognise the signs of modern slavery and take the right steps if concerns arise. We encourage a culture of vigilance and accountability throughout our organisation.

Looking Ahead

We remain proactive in assessing and improving our practices, identifying risks, and promoting ethical standards in everything we do. Homecare1st will continue to put people first, with safeguarding, transparency, and respect at the heart of our care.
